USPS Approved and Ready

All CBUs We Sell are Pre-approved

Pre-approved by USPS, CBU’s are the industry standard for outdoor, centralized mail delivery.

Installation Location

If you are involved in new construction development, you have probably already consulted or will consult with your local postmaster regarding the placement (location) of your CBU. If not, we recommend it.

Master Lock Installation

After installing the CBU, follow up with your local post office, and the USPS will install their master lock for the main access door. Note: the USPS postal worker provides the master Arrow lock, and only they have the keys to that specific, proprietary lock.

Integrated Parcel Lockers

Integrated parcel lockers

Among the many benefits of the CBU are the integrated parcel lockers for package delivery. Parcel lockers are included with every USPS-approved cluster mailbox for sale on the MailboxWorks. If you receive a parcel, the Postal Carrier will conveniently leave the key to the parcel locker in your mailbox so that you can retrieve your package.

Security Tip: Once you enter the key and open the parcel locker, you cannot remove the key. Only the postal carrier can remove the parcel locker key.

Extra Parcel Lockers

The Florence Mailboxes 8 Door CBU with 4 Parcel Lockers (1570-8T6) features two (2) additional parcel lockers compared to the standard 8 Door CBU. While the box size is the same as a 16 Door CBU, the extra space accommodates the added parcel lockers in the 1570-8T6.

The 1570-8T6 may be the right application if the USPS makes frequent parcel and package deliveries to your location or if you want to save space by featuring more integrated parcel lockers rather than stand-alone ones.

The matching CBU Pedestal

CBU Pedestal

All cluster box units include an easy-to-install pedestal. The CBU Pedestal comprises heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant aluminum. You can mount the cluster box unit (CBU) on the included pedestal (or a base of your choice, provided it meets USPS height specifications).

The pedestal comes with the needed stainless steel hardware for 1) mounting the pedestal to the cluster box and 2) mounting the unit to the concrete slab (using standard bolts). If you need to purchase anchor bolts for installation before pouring the concrete slab,* you can add these via the dropdown options above the Add to Cart button.

The CBU concrete pad spec sheet for installing the pedestal into new concrete is below.

For more details on pedestal installation, see our Installation Walkthrough.

High-Security Cluster Mailboxes for Sale

To safeguard your mail and combat identity theft, Florence Manufacturing designed all multi-tenant cluster mailboxes to meet the following high-security standards:

  • Tamper-proof – anti-pry construction with no removable parts on the exterior of the community mail receptacle.
  • Weatherproof – front drip edge and sloping roofline for protection against rain and inclement weather.
  • Robotically welded – adding precision and strength.
  • Industrial-grade aluminum construction – built with durable aircraft-grade aluminum.
  • Sturdy cam locks – that are tamper-proof and latch through the mailbox frame.
  • Tough anti-fish comb – designed to deter mail fishing.
  • The sloping hood on the outgoing mail slot is a deterrent to mail theft.

High-Security Standards

All CBUs can help deter mail theft attempts using the following features:

  • All units comprise high-grade, industrial, aircraft-quality aluminum.
  • Outside the unit, there are no removable fasteners, which prevents tampering.
  • The manufacturer constructs the cabinet using high-precision robotic welding.
  • The CBU uses a sloped roof for water run-off and a drip edge in the front to protect the individual slots from rainwater.
  • The master-loading door has a vertical bridge with an overlap that eliminates the gap between the two master-loading doors — in other words, there are no pry points on the unit.
  • Heavy-duty, zinc-plated cam locks are tamper-proof and latch through the aluminum frame for added security.
  • The outgoing mail slot uses a sloping hood to prevent someone from reaching in with their hand.
  • The aluminum, anti-fish comb deters thieves from reaching into the slot with coat hangers or other prying tools.

Heavy-Duty Cam Lock

Heavy duty cam lock

Every tenant door on the Cluster Box Unit (CBU) features a stainless steel heavy-duty five-pin cylinder cam lock, a dust and rain shield, and three (3) keys. This simple yet effective locking mechanism provides the needed security to keep your mail safe until you retrieve it.

If you ever need to replace one of the cam locks, the process is very straightforward.

Watch the video here (or at the bottom of this page) to see how to replace one of these locks within minutes.

Five-Year Product Warranty

Florence Manufacturing and Salsbury Industries offer a 5-year Product Warranty on all neighborhood CBU mailboxes for sale. The warranty covers any issues with workmanship or materials. For more details, please see our Florence Product Warranty PDF file.

Commercial & Community Mailboxes that are USPS Approved

Since 2005, USPS-approved Florence commercial mailbox units have set the industry standard for outdoor centralized mail delivery. Though these units offer superior security, we recommend checking with your local postmaster to confirm the location of the neighborhood mailbox unit before installation.

Once you install the unit, you must contact your local postmaster to install the master Arrow lock for the main access door. Only the USPS can install master locks, and only they will have access to the master lock keys. Florence Manufacturing is the only authorized supplier to the United States Postal Service.

Sturdy Cam Locks Each tenant box on the Florence commercial mailbox unit comes with a sturdy, 5-pin stainless steel cam lock and three tenant keys. The cam lock also features a rain shield for protection from rain and other adverse weather. You can order extra tenant keys and replacement locks online on our replacement parts page.

Tenant Boxes Large Enough for Magazines & Small Packages

The wider compartment size on each tenant box is now a USPS standard. CBU mailbox manufacturers design compartments to be wide enough to accommodate larger envelopes, magazines, and small packages to lie flat without being folded.

Parcel Lockers Included USPS regulations now require all mailbox clusters with ten or more tenant doors to include at least one parcel locker. Refer to our FAQs for more information on how these parcel lockers function.

Other Florence CBU’s Features Finished in a durable powder coat, all Florence units are made with reinforced steel. They also feature overlapping, interlocking seams and aircraft-grade aluminum builds to secure your mail from thieves. For private mail distribution or any application not utilizing US Postal Service, you can purchase our units with a private master lock and outgoing mail slot.

Unique cluster mailbox features include:

  • Sloped mailbox top for water drainage
  • Tight seam clearances to prevent prying
  • Adhesive (or engraved) door numbering
  • Outgoing mail slot with weather protection hood
  • Parcel lockers with key trapping lock
  • Outgoing mail collection compartment (prepped for USPS Arrow Lock)
  • Sturdy tenant cam locks with three keys per box
  • Matching aluminum pedestal (included)
  • Aluminum comb to prevent mail fishing in the outgoing mail collection compartment
  • Sturdy cam latch through the frame for added security

Ask us about USPS-approved, vandal-proof, secure units with reinforced pedestal fasteners, ideal for use as government or military centralized mail distribution systems.
